NAV-ED Services Group is approved by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to offer training in:
Captain (Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel/OUPV)
- Upgrade OUPV to Master (100 Tons)
- Assistance Towing (Endorsement)
- Auxiliary Sail (Endorsement)
- License Renewal (Not More than 100 Gross Tons)

NAV-ED PROGRAM FEATURES
SCHEDULE: NAV-ED Services Group is located in the Capital Region of New York State and can offer flexibility in class scheduling and a small class learning environment. We schedule a combination of 4-hour evening classes with Saturday 8-hour daytime sessions which allow study time between most classes and also leave a weekend day for time with the family!
FEES: Our course charge whether for the Captain (OUPV), OUPV Upgrade to Master or endorsements is competitive with other programs and includes both instruction and examinations. We have USCG approval to allow candidates 2 additional opportunities to pass each test. We will not charge separately for the initial examinations or for retesting! All examinations are administered locally.
APPLICATION PROCESS: NAV-ED Services Group will work with candidates to understand the USCG licensing application process by providing information and references before/during the course sessions and throughout the application process. NAV-ED will also acquaint candidates with the New York State licensing of public vessel operators for areas in the State not covered by the USCG license. We are available to answer questions throughout the application process.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: NAV-ED Services Group has been selected to participate in the 'Return the FAVOR' Veterans' Discount Program in both Saratoga and Albany Counties. Course discounts available for Captain candidates.
NAV-ED promotes boater safety in partnership with the Great Sacandaga Lake Association by providing FREE NYS Safe Boating Courses on the Great Sacandaga and in the Capital District area. Provided FREE classes in 2011 to 81 students at an average savings of $60 a student!
